Toe Touch Sit (Wall)

Toe Touch Sit (Wall) demonstration

How to do it

  1. 1Stand with your back lightly touching a wall, balance on one leg, lift the opposite leg in front, and reach to touch its toes while sitting the hips back.

Coaching cues

  • Stand tall with your back lightly in contact with a wall, feet about hip-width and 12–18 inches in front of the wall.
  • Shift weight to the standing leg, brace your abs, and lift the opposite leg in front with the knee slightly bent and toes pulled up.
  • Reach toward the lifted foot’s toes as you sit your hips back and down, keeping light contact with the wall and your chest up.
  • Keep the standing knee tracking over the toes; do not let it cave inward.
  • Briefly touch the toes (or reach as far as control allows) without rounding your lower back.
  • Drive through the standing heel and engage your core to return to the start. Switch legs and repeat.
